Fresh Grouper!
You will notice that we sell 3 different types of grouper, the most sought after fish from Florida's Gulf Coast. These fish are so popular that we had to give them their own page. You can't go wrong with these daddies!
- Scamp - considered the cadillac of groupers. Generally a little smaller, but very very tasty.
- Black Grouper - The most popular, it is firm and moist. This is the one that grouper lovers are looking for.
- Red Grouper - Although excellent fish, they are more plentiful then the others, so they are a little cheaper. Good for sandwiches or on the grill.
Like other fishery products these days, there are catch limits and an open and closed season on grouper. At times during the year, fresh domestic grouper is not available. That is when most fish houses substitute fresh imported grouper. It is the same grouper, the same fish, but generally comes from Mexico or Brazil. We will let you know when this time occurs.
We will never sell you import grouper as domestic or previously frozen grouper as fresh.
